Education that inspires and engages your child’s curiosity.

Our school does learning differently. At Oak Ridge, we:

Create an inclusive learning space where every person’s unique skills and abilities are identified and valued by all.

Develop a strong sense of belonging for learners, guides, and families through connections to one another and the surrounding communities.

Focus on holistic success, including physical, mental, and social health of all.

Utilize the natural world and our outdoor experiences as tools for learning throughout all subject areas.

Encourage students’ curiosity, inspiring a deeper understanding of several topics and subjects.

Foster a strong community and build meaningful relationships between learners, guides, and families.

Our Academic Framework

Group Learning: LEAD Groups

Learners engage in a 6-week project-based group activity that encourages learners to communicate and work together toward a common goal.

Framework 3

Individual Learning: Wonder Lab

The Guide creates a unit-study plan for each learner, based on the learners' interest & curiosity. They incorporate “school skills” and information to help the learner gain insight into the topics they are curious about.

Framework 2

Community Learning: Culture

Time is given to intentional community interactions focused on developing character, emotion regulation skills, and relationship building, with an emphasis of kindness and helpfulness within a community.

“As a mother of three, and former public school teacher, I knew that I wanted something different - something more - for my own children’s education. I wanted them to learn to think for themselves, accept challenges without fear of failure, and to have a blast learning about the world around them!”
